Wayland appointing board approves revised Finance Committee recruitment statement

WAYLAND — May 6, 2025 — Wayland's Finance Committee Appointing Board approved a revised recruitment statement for two open seats. Meeting May 6 by Zoom, the three-member board — Chair Cherry C. Karlson, Miranda S. Jones and new Select Board Chair Carol B. Martin — voted 3-0 to update the pitch used to fill the seats of Brian O'Hurley and Pam Roman, whose terms expire June 30. Martin pushed edits dropping outdated "pros and cons" language, clarifying that the Finance Committee's busiest stretch runs "from January through town meeting," and replacing "arduous" with "challenging but rewarding." Karlson said current Finance Committee Chair Michael Hoyle reviewed the draft and offered no changes. The board also approved its Oct. 7, 2024 minutes 3-0 and scheduled candidate interviews for June 23 and June 25.
