Planning Board fills three Design Review Advisory Board seats, two remain vacant
WAYLAND -- June 11, 2024, Wayland Planning Board fills three Design Review Advisory Board seats, two remain vacant. The board voted 4-0, with Vice Chair Robin Borgestedt abstaining, to appoint architect Tanya Person, longtime member William Sterling and Borgestedt herself to three-year terms ending June 30, 2027, after Margie Ford and Leisha Johnson declined reappointment. Chair Anette Lewis said the panel still needs a landscape architect and a graphic designer to meet its bylaw composition. Sterling, who has chaired the advisory board since its 2012 creation, called the original design guidelines "fine but outdated." The board also wrestled with the Whittemore Place subdivision, where $30,000 remains on the developer's performance bond but town counsel has advised it cannot fund a fresh drainage assessment; homeowner Rob Sherman said the developer has gone silent and that a civil engineer told him the flooded basin "is doing what was built."
