Planning Board delays Town Center permit to Oct. 7

Planning Board · Meeting of September 23, 2026

Wayland Planning Board continues Town Center master permit hearing to Oct. 7 pending remarked plans. The board voted 5-0 Tuesday to keep PB 26-04 open after Chair Anette S. Lewis noted the original and revised site plans for 400-440 Boston Post Road both carried the same July 6 date.

Member William Sterling walked the applicant through revision-triangle drafting practice and asked for physical samples of the sign materials, saying of the undrawn rail trail terminus that the team "just haven't put the work in." The amendments would add a fenced off-leash dog park, a skating rink and outdoor decks while removing 24 parking spaces, 16 on Alyssa Way and eight in the parking field. On draft accessory dwelling unit rules, Vice Chair Robin Borgestedt opposed written size thresholds: "I think when it's too big, we're going to know it."
