Cultural Council approves $1,150 vinyl wrap payment for Rail Trail cabinet

WAYLAND — July 9, 2025 — Wayland Cultural Council clears $1,150 payment for Rail Trail vinyl wrap. Members voted unanimously Wednesday to authorize direct payment to All Type Digital Graphics of Framingham, closing out a project originally awarded $1,275 in January 2024. Wayland Historical Commission member Rick Conard told the council he covered cabinet repairs, sandblasting and two adhesion tests himself after a first attempt to apply the wrap failed in November. The three-sided wrap, designed by volunteer Jonathan Bryant, depicts the former Tower Hill railroad station and was installed June 26 — just inside an extended June 30 deadline. "Instead of an ugly brown box, we think it's a very attractive addition to the rail trail," Conard said. Members Marie Isenburg, Kevin Goodwin, Naresh Mysore and Maryam Libdi all voted yes; Chair Pallavi Nagesha was absent. The council also postponed its bulletin board display, tabled the utility box project, and authorized Libdi to lead youth-representative recruitment.
