West Nile Virus Detected in Wayland Mosquito, Health Department Warns Residents

Thursday, July 30 — The Wayland Health Department announced Thursday that a mosquito collected in town on July 28 has tested positive for West Nile Virus. Residents are urged to take precautions including using EPA-registered insect repellent, wearing long sleeves and pants during peak mosquito hours, and eliminating standing water around their property. Thursday, July 30 — Wayland Rev250, the Historical Commission, and History At Play are presenting a living history performance, "Rendezvous with Rachel Revere," on Sunday, August 30, at 2:00 p.m. at the Vokes Theater, 97 Boston Post Road. The program follows Rachel Revere as a witness to the American Revolution and a close confidant of Paul Revere.
