Monday, August 24, 7:30 p.m. — Arts Wayland hosted The Songwriter's Woodshed at its Andrew Avenue gallery, part of the nonprofit's ongoing lineup of music and community programs.
Friday, August 28, 5 to 8 p.m. — Arts Wayland and Wayland Town Center will host Tap'n'Tunes, an end-of-summer block party on Elissa Avenue featuring the band Seven2Many and newcomer Georgia Raines, with brews, cider and wine from Clover Road Brewery. Elissa Avenue will close to traffic for the event, which will include a splash pool and games for children.
Sunday, August 30, 2 p.m. — Wayland250 and the Wayland Historical Commission will present Rendezvous with Rachel Revere, a free performance at Beatrice Herford's Vokes Theatre featuring educator and living historian Judith Kalaora of History At Play. Kalaora portrays Rachel Revere, who was left in British-occupied Boston to protect her family, home and business; she will stay after the show to answer audience questions. The program is also sponsored by Wayland Rev250 and Vokes Theatre.
Tuesday, September 1 — The deadline arrives for Massachusetts authors to submit ghost stories, myths and legends for The Massachusetts Gothic, a joint call from Arts Wayland and the MetroWest Writers' Guild. Selected pieces will be read at a reception at the Arts Wayland gallery on September 25; applicants will be notified by mid-September.
Thursday, September 3, 7 to 8:30 p.m. — Arts Wayland will hold Art Circle: Technology, a Tool for Creating or Cheating?, a discussion program at its Andrew Avenue gallery.
Sunday, September 20, noon to 2 p.m. — The Wayland Museum and Historical Society will open The Home Team, a year-long exhibit whose first chapter, Out Until Dark, runs through November and explores local sports history.
Saturday, October 3 — The Wayland Festival returns to town, according to the Wayland Museum's fall program calendar.
