Wayland Museum To Open New Sports History Exhibit

Monday, September 7 — Arts Wayland's submission deadline for "The Massachusetts Gothic," a call for local authors to write new fiction and poetry inspired by Massachusetts myths and legends, fell today. The group, partnering with the MetroWest Writers' Guild, said applicants will be notified by mid-September ahead of a September 25 reading and reception at its Gallery on Andrew Avenue; program co-lead Luke Acton is fielding eligibility questions.

Tuesday, September 8, 7:30 p.m. — Arts Wayland hosts MXLR, its Music Exchange Listening Room, at the Gallery.

Thursday, September 17, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. — Arts Wayland holds Macho Mocha, a coffee and connection meetup for men, at the Gallery.

Sunday, September 20, noon to 2 p.m. — The Wayland Museum & Historical Society will hold an opening reception for "The Home Team," a new year-long exhibit at its Cochituate Road building. Its first chapter, "Out Until Dark," will be on view through November.

Monday, September 21, 7:30 p.m. — Arts Wayland hosts The Songwriter's Woodshed at the Gallery.

Wednesday, October 14, 6:30 p.m. — The Wayland Museum & Historical Society holds Trivia Night at The Villa Restaurant on East Plain Street. The restaurant will donate 10 percent of sales between 3 and 10 p.m. to the museum, with free trivia starting at 6:30 p.m.
