Wayland wastewater panel sets November membrane tank overhaul
WAYLAND -- October 21, 2024, Wayland wastewater commission plans November membrane tank overhaul under $526,000 capital project. Operations Manager Jared Cotton told the Oct. 21 meeting that diffusers are on site and membrane tank two will be pumped down the first Monday of November, with membranes reinstalled by the weekend before Thanksgiving; Kubota will replace roughly a dozen plates in an apparent "dead spot." Department of Public Works Director Thomas Holder said the work will appear on rates as about 1.25 points of debt service. Administrator Sarah Pawluczonek forecast an 81.4 percent operating spend for the year and reported delinquent bills down to $9,268 across seven accounts, noting some chronic non-payers have "zero payment history." Average influent is holding near 32,000 gallons per day. Chair Michael Gitten and member Darrin Bock approved the Sept. 9 minutes.
