Wayland wastewater commission approves FY24 budget, $50,000 vehicle purchase
WAYLAND -- March 8, 2023, Wayland wastewater commission unanimously approves FY24 budget and $50,000 vehicle replacement. Chair Michael Gitten, Darrin Bock and Doug Levine voted 3-0 on both items at the March 8 meeting, with the only substantive budget change being an increase in the transfer to the town's general fund for indirect charges, from $34,000 to $42,000. DPW Director Thomas Holder reported $25,114 in privilege fees collected to date, with another roughly $26,000 expected from 289 Boston Post Road, leaving 8,058 of 10,000 reserved gallons per day available. Holder briefed the board on the Mill Creek development, which has 6,000 gallons per day allocated but needs upwards of 30,000; Levine warned that fast-tracking capacity would be "irresponsible" and risked "misleading someone." The Abrahams Group will present a new rate analysis April 12, with the rate hearing set for June 14.
