Wayland Select Board fills four committee seats in June 26 meeting

WAYLAND — June 26, 2023 — Wayland Select Board fills four committee seats and assigns Whitney to lead 40B response. The board on June 26 unanimously appointed Michael German, a recent Maryland graduate now at Deloitte, to the Audit Committee; Marianne Borkowski to the Human Rights, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee; Newton-based realtor Lynn Cohen to the Historic District Commission's realtor seat; and Wayland High senior Annabelle Zang as a non-voting Cultural Council associate, all through June 30, 2026. Member Christopher Reynolds said state law caps cultural councils at 22 members and existing bylaws already allow non-voters to serve as associates, so no new position was needed. The board also approved end-of-year line-item transfers from Finance Director Brian Keveney and a $644,500 consent-calendar contract. With town comments on the Mill Creek/In Moderna 40B due to Mass Housing by July 17, the board voted 5-0 to designate member William Whitney to work with Town Manager Michael McCall and KP Law on the response, citing his real estate background.
