Wayland Planning Board OKs Town Center Permit Changes
Planning Board · Meeting of October 7, 2026
Wayland's Planning Board closed the hearing on Town Center permit changes but delayed two other cases for lack of information or a full board. The board voted 4-0 to close the public hearing on an amendment to the 2008 master special permit for the Wayland Town Center, letting NP Wayland LLC use unbuilt parcels for a skating rink and dog park, and authorized Chair Anette Lewis and Town Planner Robert Hummel to finalize the decision. Vice Chair Robin Borgestedt said she had no objection to existing but unpermitted string lighting on Alyssa Avenue "if we required that they have approval from the fire department." The board continued a hearing on the DPW's proposed MWRA water treatment facility and Castle Road pump station to November 4 after peer reviewer Greg Roy of Dillis & Roy raised groundwater and lagoon-discharge questions, and continued counsel Andrew B.
Delory's request to reapply for a denied special permit at 8 Parkridge Road to October 21, after Delory said the board lacked the full membership needed for the required supermajority vote.
