Wayland Planning Board adopts multifamily overlay site-plan rules
WAYLAND -- September 24, 2024, Wayland Planning Board adopts multifamily overlay regulations and reshuffles leadership. The board voted 5-0 Tuesday to adopt site plan review regulations for the town's multifamily housing overlay district, incorporating resident comments to cap exposed foundations at 24 vertical inches and ban "vinyl fencing, exposed cinder block walls and chain link fences." A separate 5-0 vote adopted new rules for hiring outside consultants under MGL c.44 §53G, clarifying that unspent peer-review balances will be returned within 30 days of a board authorization vote. Members also unanimously authorized Town Planner Robert to clear roughly two dozen legacy guaranteed-deposit accounts, routing most balances to DPW to reimburse completed work at Danforth, Michael Glen Road and Spencer Circle. Jennifer Steele was elected acting chair and Anette S. Lewis vice chair after associate member Phyllis resigned. The Veritas Christian Academy hearing was continued to Oct. 8.
