Brensley Says Write-In Votes Secure November Ballot Spot

Friday, September 4 — Anne Brensley, a Wayland Republican running for secretary of the commonwealth, says her write-in campaign has collected enough votes to qualify for the November ballot. Saturday, September 5 — The Wayland Free Public Library will close for Labor Day weekend beginning Saturday and remain closed through Monday, September 7, reopening to patrons on Tuesday, September 8.

Tuesday, September 8, 7:30 p.m. — Arts Wayland hosts the MXLR Music Exchange Listening Room at its gallery on Andrew Avenue.

Friday, September 11 — The Wayland Fire Department will hold a remembrance ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, offering residents a space to reflect together as a community.

Friday, September 25, 7 p.m. — Arts Wayland and the MetroWest Writers' Guild will host a reception and reading at the Arts Wayland Gallery for "The Massachusetts Gothic," a project inviting Massachusetts authors to reimagine the state's myths and legends in new fiction and poetry. Submissions are due Monday, September 7, with applicants notified by mid-September.

Wednesday, October 14, 6:30 p.m. — The Wayland Museum & Historical Society holds Trivia Night at The Villa Restaurant on East Plain Street, with the restaurant donating 10 percent of sales from 3 to 10 p.m. to support the museum, dine-in or takeout.

Sunday, October 25 — The museum offers a Mid-Century Modern House Tour of five of Wayland's cherished mid-century homes, with proceeds supporting museum programs; ticket details are still to come.
