Wayland housing trust reaffirms funding votes, tables Good Shepherd grant
WAYLAND -- September 17, 2024, Wayland's Municipal Affordable Housing Trust reaffirms funding votes and balks at Good Shepherd grant terms. The trust voted 4-0 on Sept. 17 to confirm three prior allocations with their funding source specified: up to $2,400 for a Land Court title exam and $6,000 in legal fees for deregistering 12 Hammond Road, plus $5,000 for the annual audit, all from Community Preservation Act funds, and $7,500 from non-CPA funds for the home repair program. Chair Michael Staiti tabled a $140,000 grant agreement for Good Shepherd Parish housing because the document binds the developer, not the town, saying he won't "pursue the Catholic … archdiocese charitable arm" for the money if the project fails. Member Mary M. Antes said the town-taken Concord Road parcel is grandfathered to keep excess equity, with demolition funded by ARPA. Next meeting Oct. 29.
