Wayland Housing Partnership plans April forum on town meeting housing articles

WAYLAND — February 13, 2024 — Wayland Housing Partnership will host an April public forum on housing warrant articles. Chair Mary Antes and members Rachel Bratt and Catherine Provost will organize the session — tentatively April 9 or 10 over Zoom — featuring sponsors of the MBTA Communities zoning article, the "solar compact" conservation cluster proposal and other housing measures headed to the May 13 town meeting. The committee unanimously approved Feb. 14 minutes after correcting the Launcher Way list price to $859,000, a sale member Jim Rumbach said left "a sour taste in my mouth" after the town lost its bid for 12 former military units. Antes reported that a Habitat for Humanity bid for a Hammond Road affordable home was revised from roughly $723,000 to $508,000, with the Affordable Housing Trust contributing $400,000. The 60-unit elderly affordable project at St. Ann's awaits a state low-income housing tax credit allocation, with occupancy possible by fall 2026.
