Wayland design board sends 233 Boston Post Road signage to ZBA

WAYLAND — May 23, 2024 — Wayland's Design Review Advisory Board sends 233 Boston Post Road signage plan toward a ZBA variance. Architect Alan and Kenco Development's Todd Perrault, appearing for owner Dr. Ortiz, said the project will seek wall-mounted signs on both the north and west elevations, exceeding the town's 40-square-foot aggregate cap under Section 501.1; the board also flagged likely conflicts with the 15-foot front-yard setback and sign-height rules. Revised signage uses non-illuminated lettering with gooseneck downlights, with a formal submission due Tuesday to Town Planner Robert. Building Commissioner Mike Crisafulli attended. Member Robin Borgestedt, speaking as a resident, said "people are appalled" at the contemporary building sitting across from a historic district. The board adjourned 3-0.
