Wayland Cultural Council reserves $1,035 for three special projects

WAYLAND — November 12, 2025 — Wayland Cultural Council reserves full $1,035 in discretionary funds and opens review of 22 grant applications. Chair Pallavi Nagesha led the Nov. 12 meeting, where members voted unanimously on a motion from Marie Isenburg to hold the entire $1,035 for special projects, citing upcoming Revolution 250 commemorations and "special events coming up next year." A second unanimous motion, from Kevin Goodwin, endorsed in principle three projects: a rail trail bench tied to Historic Commission informational boards, co-sponsorship of the HRDEIC's Dec. 10 Human Rights Day, and the Wayland Museum's "Echoes of Liberty" exhibition with Arts Wayland in April–May 2026. Grant requests range from $225 to $1,000; Nagesha said she will abstain on Bhumika Arts and a library "Conversations for Change" proposal. Members will rank applications via Mentimeter over the next two weeks.
