Wayland Cultural Council reserves $1,035 for special projects, backs three

WAYLAND — November 12, 2025 — Wayland Cultural Council reserves $1,035 for discretionary projects and backs three local initiatives. The council voted 6-0 Wednesday to set aside the full discretionary allotment, then voted unanimously to support a rail-trail bench paired with historical commission signage, a co-sponsorship of the town's Dec. 10 Human Rights Day with the Human Rights, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, and the Wayland Museum's "Echoes of Liberty" exhibition running April through May 2026 in time for the Revolutionary War 250th. Member Kevin, who moved the set-aside, said the council "may end up wanting to participate in multiple ways" in coming anniversary events. Members also began review of 22 grant applications totaling tens of thousands in requests, with initial Mentimeter voting due before Thanksgiving and final allocations set for the Dec. 10 meeting.
