Wayland Conservation Commission ratifies enforcement order on unpermitted Dudley Pond renovation
WAYLAND -- December 20, 2023, Wayland Conservation Commission ratifies enforcement order over unpermitted Dudley Pond renovation. Conservation Administrator Linda Hansen told the panel Wednesday that a Lakeshore Drive home was fully rehabbed within 100 feet of the pond, including a street-edge retaining wall now funneling stormwater into the water, plus a deck, dock and paved backyard, with no permit from her office. "None of this was done with a permit," Hansen said, noting the contractor already holds three open permits for his own house. The commission voted unanimously to uphold the cease-and-desist and require an after-the-fact filing and a side-yard restoration plan. Chair Sean Fair said the board will push a "tree bank" fee structure in 2024 after a developer felled roughly 28 trees at 10 Pequot Road and another clear-cut 61 Sherman Bridge Road within days. The commission also issued an order of conditions for a Title 5 septic replacement at 38 Aqueduct Road and continued four other hearings to Jan. 10.
