Wayland assessors commit $46.8 million in FY2026 preliminary taxes

WAYLAND — June 9, 2025 — Wayland assessors commit $46.8 million in FY2026 preliminary taxes. Meeting remotely Monday with three of five members present, the Board of Assessors voted 3-0 to commit $45,545,847.71 in real estate tax, $596,692.80 in personal property tax and $623,461.89 in Community Preservation Act surcharge for the first and second quarters of fiscal 2026, totaling $46,766,002.40. Members Douglass McNeilly, Massimo Taurisano and Steven Klitgord also approved a third motor vehicle excise commitment of $217,079.64, FY2025 supplemental real estate taxes of $35,110.23, and a $1,000 Title V betterment plus $33.97 interest on 274 Cochituate Road. Chair Zachariah L. Ventress and Vice-Chair Philip David Parks were absent. The board reported "zero" activity on both its FY2025 amended assessment filing and its Chapter Land Rollback filing to the state.
