The Board of Assessors on Feb. 12 unanimously approved two warrants, the fiscal 2024 seventh commitment of $18,396.73 on 272 bills against $6.2 million in vehicle value, and a calendar-2024 first commitment of $2,252,038.57, both with a Feb. 23 issue date. Vice Chair Philip David Parks presided; members Massimo Taurisano and Steven Klitgord joined him on every roll call. Staff reported 55 abatement applications this season, including 28 single-family homes, 12 commercial parcels and one nursing home, with six site visits postponed by the storm. The office is also reconciling 80 to 100 parcels with the town's GIS coordinator for state certification, a "deeper dive this year than future years." The board entered executive session at 6:15 p.m. and tentatively set March 4 as its next meeting.
