Wayland assessors approve state tax-rate filings, set classification meeting
WAYLAND — November 9, 2023 — Wayland Board of Assessors clears state forms, eyes Nov. 14 classification hearing. The board voted 4-0 at a brief Nov. 9 remote meeting to authorize submission of the LA-4, LA-10 and LA-13 certification forms through the Department of Revenue's DLS Gateway, a required step toward setting the fiscal 2024 tax rate. Chair Zachariah L. Ventress, Vice-Chair Philip David Parks, Steven Klitgord and Massimo Taurisano voted in favor; Douglass McNeilly was not recorded participating. The town's finance director told members DLS had given a verbal commitment to work over the weekend on Wayland's submission, with certification anticipated the following Monday. "I want to dive right into recap for Tuesday night," he said, previewing the classification presentation. The meeting ran from 12:32 to 12:37 p.m. with no public comment.
