Wayland assessors approve February minutes, log 59 abatement applications

WAYLAND — March 4, 2024 — Wayland assessors log 59 abatement applications and near completion of inspections. The Board of Assessors, meeting remotely March 4, heard from its principal assessor that the 2024 abatement caseload had grown from 55 to 59 after late-arriving February filings, with all inspections completed except for two scheduled the following morning. As of March 1, the office had received 64 charitable institution parcels, 65 income and expense forms, and 124 forms of list — 102 from businesses and 22 from residential filers. Chair Zachariah L. Ventress, Vice-Chair Philip David Parks, and members Massimo Taurisano and Steven Klitgord voted 5-0 with staff to approve Feb. 12 open session minutes before entering executive session to handle motor vehicle abatements. Members were invited into the office the week of March 18 to review abatement files ahead of the March 25 meeting.
