Wayland Assessors approve February minutes, advance hiring search

WAYLAND — March 13, 2023 — Wayland Board of Assessors approves February minutes and reports six applicants for open staff position. Vice-Chair Philip David Parks led the March 13 meeting with Chair Zachariah L. Ventress and member Massimo Taurisano absent; member Steven Klitgord and staff member Sharon Burke joined remotely. The board unanimously accepted the Feb. 27 minutes on a 3-0 roll call. Staff reported six resumes received for an open assessing position, with a possible seventh inquiry that day, and in-person interviews being scheduled for the following week — though, as one staffer put it, "things move slow in Wayland." The board's next meeting is set for March 20, when it will take up a second motor vehicle excise commitment and continue work on fiscal 2023 real estate and personal property abatements ahead of the April 1 exemption deadline. Members entered executive session at 5:14 p.m.
