Wayland assessors approve $89,700 in excise commitments, set disclosure window

WAYLAND — October 6, 2025 — Wayland assessors approve roughly $89,700 in excise commitments and set Oct. 20-24 disclosure window. With Chair Zachariah L. Ventress absent, Vice-Chair Philip David Parks led the Board of Assessors through three unanimous 4-0 votes Oct. 6, including the fiscal 2026 fifth commitment of 358 motor vehicle bills totaling $89,366.03 on $8.38 million in valuation, plus smaller commitments of $575.03 and $383.35 from prior calendar years, all to be issued Oct. 9. Members Massimo Taurisano, Douglass McNeilly and Steven Klitgord joined Parks on every vote. Staff reported consultant Roy Bishop spent Friday on the calendar 2024 sales analysis driving fiscal 2026 values, with work expected to wrap Oct. 17. "We believe we've covered all the bases," staff said ahead of a Nov. 17 appearance before the Select Board on tax classification.
