WAYLAND — October 10, 2023 — Wayland assessors acknowledge FY2024 preliminary certification filing with the state. The Board of Assessors voted 4-0 Tuesday to ratify the director of assessing's submission of the preliminary LA-3 and LA-4 to the DLS Gateway, filed that morning after a run of canceled meetings for lack of quorum. The LA-4 pegs Wayland's total value at roughly $5.4 billion, with 485 exempt parcels worth $383,461,800. Members Steven Klitgord, Massimo Taurisano, Sharon Burke and Chair Zachariah L. Ventress also approved four sets of prior minutes and signed off on an overlay reconciliation shifting a $2,603.87 fiscal 2022 deficit onto the fiscal 2016 overlay, which retains a $3,254.69 balance. "We're in the queue," the director told members, projecting preliminary certification within "two to three weeks."
