Trust Fund Commission approves transfer of Susan Levitt trust to community fund

WAYLAND — October 16, 2023 — Wayland Trust Fund Commission authorizes transfer of Susan Levitt Charitable Trust to Wayland Community Fund Inc. Meeting Oct. 16 with one of three seats vacant, Commissioners Barry Rothschild and Adam Garrett Gutbezahl voted 2-0 to disburse the trust's full balance as of Oct. 31 to the nonprofit, the sole bidder in a summer RFP. Gutbezahl said the fund's capability was "a vast understatement" and praised its "steady resolve." The commission also approved up to $3,200 from the Marion Draper Fund for Concord Printing invoices tied to the library's 175th-anniversary booklet — actual cost $2,640 — and $198.35 from the small funds for a Baker and Taylor book-repair invoice. Rothschild said two residents have expressed interest in the vacancy left by Jerry Reed's resignation.
