Housing Partnership to host April 9 forum on town meeting housing articles

WAYLAND — March 13, 2024 — Wayland Housing Partnership will host a public forum April 9 on housing articles headed to the May 13 town meeting. The committee voted Wednesday to hold the session in lieu of its regular April meeting, with Chair Mary Antes and member Catherine Provost organizing presentations on a proposed Solar Compact zoning amendment and Wayland's MBTA Communities compliance article. Members also heard that a revised Habitat for Humanity proposal for a deed-restricted home on Hammond Road came in at roughly $508,000, down from $723,000, with the Wayland Affordable Housing Trust contributing $400,000. Member Rachel Bratt reported the 60-unit affordable elderly project at the former St. Anne's parish has secured $250,000 from the town trust and MetroWest HOME Consortium funds, with some units targeted to households at 30 percent of area median income — "a deeply affordable development," she said.
