Conservation Commission clears three Wayland projects, continues Russell's and Coptic church reviews
WAYLAND -- October 8, 2025, Wayland Conservation Commission clears three projects and punts two big reviews to Oct. 29. Chair Sean P. Fair's board issued negative determinations for a five-bedroom home on Lot A1 of the 13 Sharena Road subdivision, a porch-and-walkway replacement at 13 Stanton Street, a failed septic replacement at 4 Wheelock Road, and a town drainage overhaul at Mansion Road and Lakeshore Drive that aims to stop West Plain Street homes from flooding. Engineer Kevin Larrabee told the commission the Sharena Road plan reduces net impervious area flowing to the front lot line by 1,714 square feet; members Shannon Fischer and Lisa Aubin still pushed for more native trees, with Fischer noting "a single mature tree can absorb and release anywhere from several thousand to 40,000 gallons of water." Hearings on the Russell's paving case at 397 Boston Post Road and the St. Philopater and St. Mina Coptic Orthodox Church campus at 169 Rice Road were continued to Oct. 29, with Planning Board-led peer review by ECT underway on the church project.
