WAYLAND -- March 26, 2018, Wayland selectmen pick Community Paradigm for town administrator search. The Board of Selectmen voted 4-0 Monday to authorize the town administrator to award the contract to Community Paradigm Associates, which came in $4,200 below Municipal Resources Inc. and was rated higher for its "targeted approach to outreach" and Massachusetts focus, Assistant Town Administrator Beth said. A third bidder, Springsted Waters, was disqualified for lacking Massachusetts town administrator search experience. The board set an Aug. 31, 2018, target to identify a new administrator. Firefighters Local 1978 President William Tyree urged the board the same night to fund four new firefighter-paramedics rather than two, saying the department runs four shifts and has been working toward round-the-clock advanced life support for nearly seven years. Selectmen also spent more than two hours walking the 162-page annual town meeting warrant page by page.
