WAYLAND — November 21, 2022 — Wayland's Town Manager Screening Committee votes 7-0 to interview candidates in executive session. Chair Lee Anderson gaveled in the hybrid meeting at 6 p.m. Nov. 21 with all seven members present — Anderson, Ann Gordon, Steve Nguyen, Jennifer Steele, Candace Hetzner, Tom Clem and Bill Huss — alongside search consultant Mike Gillette of GovHR. With no public comment offered, Anderson moved under M.G.L. Chapter 30A, Section 21(a)(8) to interview applicants in closed session, declaring an open meeting would have a "detrimental effect in obtaining qualified applicants." Steele seconded; the roll call was unanimous. The committee adjourned directly from executive session without returning to open session.
