WAYLAND — December 10, 2025 — Wayland Planning Board sets four zoning articles for spring town meeting and shelves signs. Chair Anette Lewis told members on Dec. 10 that final amendment language must be locked by Dec. 22 to meet the Jan. 15 filing deadline, with a public hearing set for Jan. 7 at 8:15 p.m. The board will advance accessory dwelling unit, multifamily, floodplain and possibly ground-mounted solar articles; temporary signs were pushed to next year. Vice Chair Robin Borgestedt led a rewrite creating a by-right "protected use ADU" capped at 900 square feet and a special-permit track for larger units, with members debating ceilings between 1,200 and 2,000 square feet. The multifamily change raises maximum height to 58 feet and density to 33 units per acre to accommodate a 106-unit project. Lewis called the original six-article slate "actually too much."
