Wayland Lands $100K State Grant for Municipal Energy Upgrades

Tuesday, August 4 — Wayland is in line to receive $100,000 in state funding for municipal energy upgrades, per Wayland Patch, which reports the money comes from a grant program aimed at cutting public-building energy costs and modernizing town facilities. Tuesday, August 4, 8:23 a.m. — The Wayland Department of Public Works closed Glezen Lane to through traffic Tuesday and Wednesday, August 4 and 5, for roadway construction and paving operations. Thursday, August 6, 7:00 p.m. — Arts Wayland hosts its Art Circle discussion, "What Keeps You Coming Back," at the Arts Wayland Gallery, 35 Andrew Ave. The free program invites artists and art enthusiasts to reflect on creative practice. More information is available at artswayland.com.

Thursday, August 30, 2:00 p.m. — The Wayland Historical Commission and Wayland Rev250 are co-sponsoring "Rendezvous with Rachel Revere," a free interactive one-woman play presented by History at Play at Vokes Theater, 97 Boston Post Road. The performance tells the story of Rachel Revere and her efforts to protect her children during the British occupation. Seating is limited and registration is required; a link is available through the town's August newsletter.

Friday, September 5 (deadline: Wednesday, September 3) — Arts Wayland is accepting vendor applications for its 2026 Winter Art Fair, scheduled for December 5 at Wayland High School's The Commons. The application deadline is September 3. Register at artswayland.com.

Friday, September 25, 7:00 p.m. — Arts Wayland and the MetroWest Writers' Guild are calling on Massachusetts authors to submit fiction and poetry for "The Massachusetts Gothic," a reading and reception at the Arts Wayland Gallery celebrating regional myths and legends. The submission deadline is Tuesday, September 1; authors will be notified by mid-September. Apply at artswayland.com.

Saturday, October 3 — Arts Wayland's Wayland Fest returns to Wayland Town Center; vendor applications are open through August 10. The event features art, crafts, and community programming. Register at artswayland.com.
