Wayland Housing Partnership chair resigns as St. Anne's project accelerates

WAYLAND — January 4, 2023 — Wayland Housing Partnership chair resigns weeks into her term as St. Anne's project accelerates. Christine McKenilock told the committee Wednesday she would step down by the weekend to begin a regional housing consulting role covering Weston, Wayland and possibly Bedford. Member Chris DeBona will chair the February meeting. Member Rachel Bratt reported the Archdiocese of Boston's Planning Office of Urban Affairs will present at a Jan. 10 Wayland Affordable Housing Trust meeting and request between $100,000 and $200,000 toward a 45-to-65-unit affordable project at the St. Anne's site, with Economic Development Committee member Becky Stanisi pushing to fast-track approvals before Wayland's 40B safe harbor expires in May. "I haven't heard any murmur of anybody who's in any way opposed," Bratt said. The committee also debated the $78,000 Route 20 Master Plan study and agreed to resend its earlier memo urging the Select Board to engage Mill Creek.
