Wayland Housing Partnership backs St. Anne's tax-credit reapplication, schedules fall forums

WAYLAND — September 11, 2024 — Wayland Housing Partnership endorses St. Anne's reapplication, plans ADU and shared-living forums. The committee voted 8-0 Wednesday to send a revised letter of support to state Housing Secretary Edward Augustus backing the Planning Office of Urban Affairs' bid for federal low-income housing tax credits in a state "mini round" to fund the 60-unit St. Anne Senior Village. Member Rachel Bratt said the spring application was deferred but called the invitation to reapply "definitely encouraging." Members also discussed a Habitat for Humanity partnership at 11 Hammond Road, where the Wayland Housing Trust would front roughly $440,000 after a sole modular bid topped $1 million. Catherine Provost noted 80 percent of area median income for a family of four now sits near $140,000 — "staggering," Bratt said. Chair Mary M. Antes will remain in the role after no member volunteered to succeed her; educational forums on ADUs and shared living were set for Oct. 16 and Nov. 13.
