Wayland EDC plots summer pop-up beer garden at Town Center

WAYLAND — February 10, 2023 — Wayland's Economic Development Committee mapped out a summer pop-up beer garden at Town Center. Chair Rebecca M. Stanizzi told members on Feb. 10 she has approached The Local about anchoring the events out of the Middlesex Bank side parking lot, citing the restaurant's kitchen capacity and the lot's Route 20 visibility. Members agreed food service is effectively required and that restaurants should get first refusal, even though Town Center documents do not mandate tenant approval for events on the green. The committee voted 4-0 to approve December and January minutes, confirmed a Feb. 28 public forum on Route 20 master planning, and agreed to hand-deliver flyers to businesses on Feb. 16. Stanizzi said the St. Anne's 40B is on track for a mid-April ZBA hearing while Mill Creek's has been delayed, and confirmed Fresh Market has signed for the former Bed Bath & Beyond space.
