Wayland DPW board postpones votes after re-elected members miss swearing-in

WAYLAND — April 15, 2025 — Wayland's Board of Public Works deferred every vote on its April 15 agenda after two re-elected members had not been sworn in. Vice-Chair Michael Wegebauer, presiding for absent Chair George Uveges, pushed a Complete Streets endorsement, drought ban authorization, transfer station sticker fees, and minutes approval to May 20. DPW Director Tom reported the Chamberlain well hit 20.6 parts per trillion of PFAS in March, exceeding the 20 ppt state threshold and triggering a public-education mailing due April 19, though April sampling came in at 18.6 ppt. Happy Hollow goes offline May 13 for an ECT2 manifold conversion, potentially requiring an emergency MWRA activation.
