Wayland Conservation panel defers School Street decision, seeks counsel's opinion

WAYLAND — January 11, 2023 — Wayland Conservation Commission punts on scaled-down School Street townhouse plan. Chris Antonio of Windsor Place LLC asked the panel Jan. 11 to bless a seven-unit design in place of his previously denied 12-unit project at 24 School Street, citing a 35 percent reduction in impervious area, a septic system shrunk from 2,860 to 1,870 gallons per day, and bedroom count cut from 26 to 17. Conservation Administrator Linda Hansen said DEP and KP Law attorney Amy Kwesell have advised that a new wetlands delineation is required; Antonio's consultant Marion DePinto contends the 2017 filing remains active. Chair Sean Fair continued the hearing to Jan. 25 pending written guidance from town counsel. Attorney Michael Wiggins, representing abutter George Bernard, called the plan a "new project" that must "stand on its own two feet." The commission also issued orders of conditions for projects at 125 Dudley Road and 19 Snakebrook Road on unanimous votes.
