WAYLAND — October 29, 2025 — Wayland Planning Board continues Carroll School site plan hearing to Nov. 19 amid abutter pushback. Chair Anette Lewis reminded residents the board's review is limited under the Dover amendment to bulk, parking and similar regulations as Carrie DeLeo of the school's project management team outlined responses to feedback from two towns, two police chiefs and dozens of neighbors. Attorney Dan Hill, representing abutters, said the school's traffic study disclosed 904 added vehicle trips but obscured existing counts and may trigger a MEPA filing. Civil engineer John Chessia said the 2025 stormwater baseline doesn't match what was approved in 2016, and hydrologist Scott Horsley flagged missing test pits and a 90-day groundwater mounding analysis. Head of School Renee Greenfield acknowledged the school "cannot control" parent behavior once cars leave campus. The board separately voted 5-0 to finalize an amended Community Center Phase 1 decision.
