Wayland Conservation Commission delays St. Ann's housing vote for peer review

WAYLAND — February 7, 2024 — Wayland Conservation Commission delays St. Ann's 60-unit affordable housing vote until March 20. Engineer Steve Garwin told commissioners the Archdiocese of Boston Planning Office for Urban Affairs project at 124 Cochituate Road has moved its detention basin and pulled the septic system outside the 100-foot buffer, but Administrator Linda Hansen is still collecting peer-review bids from Tetra Tech, BSC Group and Meridian on stormwater and groundwater mounding. Vice Chair Luke Legere said the peer reviewer is "the logical next step." The commission also let new owners of 102 Boston Post Road avoid a return hearing after admitting unpermitted removal of trees on a lot Hansen said had gone "pretty much barren," and conditioned a 1,500-square-foot rain garden at 5 Edgewood Road on replacing daylilies that member Shannon Fischer called "increasingly recognized as invasive."
