Wayland Conservation Commission continues senior center review, schedules Jan. 5 site walk

WAYLAND — December 21, 2022 — Wayland Conservation Commission punts senior center and 60-unit housing reviews to January. The commission on Dec. 21 continued hearings on the Council on Aging community center at 4814 Andrew Ave. and a 60-unit affordable housing project at 113-115 Boston Post Road, both to Jan. 11, and voted unanimously to authorize Conservation Administrator Linda Hansen to retain a stormwater peer reviewer in coordination with the Planning Board. David Kelly of Meridian Associates presented a 100-space, 1.1-acre parking plan that Hansen said sits on the town green and may exceed the 10 percent riverfront-alteration cap. Five abutters from Lillian Way and Concord Road urged a smaller footprint; resident Susan Pollack called the design inconsistent with the town's "climate emergency" declaration. The commission also closed the hearing on 135 Old Connecticut Path with an order of conditions and approved up to $8,000 in filing-fee funds for outside technical review.
