Wayland assessors move to executive session to decide 41 abatement applications

WAYLAND — March 17, 2025 — Wayland assessors move to executive session to rule on 41 abatement applications. The Board of Assessors met for roughly seven minutes in open session March 17 before unanimously adjourning into executive session to vote on fiscal 2025 real estate exemptions and abatements. Vice-Chair Philip David Parks ran the opening; Chair Zachariah L. Ventress joined at about 6:05 p.m., with members Douglass McNeilly and Steven Klitgord also present. Director Rob Lemire reported staff had processed 45 abatement applications — including 25 residential, 10 commercial and three personal property solar — with three withdrawn and one held under state Department of Revenue valuation. Lemire also flagged a March 20 office celebration for Tamara Keith, newly designated a Massachusetts Accredited Assessor, calling the credential "a big deal." The board next meets April 7.
