Wayland assessors commit $46.6 million in FY26 taxes

WAYLAND — December 8, 2025 — Wayland assessors commit $46.6 million in fiscal 2026 taxes and lien charges. Meeting Dec. 8 with three of five members present, the Board of Assessors voted 3-0 to accept a summary memo and 10 underlying commitment pages totaling $46,617,082.69, covering real estate, personal property, the Community Preservation Act surcharge, water and wastewater liens, and Wastewater Treatment Center betterments. Vice-Chair Philip David Parks chaired in the absence of Chair Zachariah L. Ventress, joined by Steven Klitgord and Douglass McNeilly. Parks moved to "accept this memo summary and carry it over to the individual pages." The board also approved three sets of November minutes, heard that fiscal 2027 income and expense forms will mail Dec. 30 for a March 2, 2026 return, and entered executive session to take up motor vehicle abatements, senior tax work-off abatements and multi-year real estate reassessments.
