Wayland assessors commit $46.5 million in second-half FY25 taxes

WAYLAND — December 9, 2024 — Wayland assessors commit $46.5 million in Q3-Q4 fiscal 2025 taxes. Meeting remotely Dec. 9 without Chair Zachariah L. Ventress, the Board of Assessors voted 4-0 on each of a dozen individual commitment lines before ratifying a summary total of $46,552,740.92, with a typo correcting "FY24" to "FY25." Real estate led at $45,006,131.68, followed by personal property at $596,079.59, Community Preservation Act surcharges of $613,982.86, and a wastewater town-center betterment of $156,223.36 plus $77,873.08 in interest. Vice-Chair Philip David Parks ran the meeting with members Steven Klitgord, Massimo Taurisano and Douglass McNeilly. Staff also briefed the board on a roughly $75,000 CPA application to restore eight assessor ledgers and buy archival boxes for about 275 records — "received very, very well by the committee," the director said.
