Wayland assessors approve three sets of minutes, eye June 9 tax review

WAYLAND — May 5, 2025 — Wayland Board of Assessors clears three sets of minutes and previews June tax review. Meeting remotely May 5, Chair Zachariah L. Ventress, Douglass McNeilly and Steven Klitgord approved open-session minutes from April 14, March 17 and April 7 on unanimous 3-0 votes. The director's update reported that Finance and Management Analyst Brian Luther is drafting an RFP for the restoration and storage of the town's assessor's ledgers, a project authorized at town meeting, and that fiscal 2026 preliminary first- and second-quarter taxes will be brought to the board June 9. Asked by Klitgord whether accessory dwelling units require a new property code, the director said town meeting's bylaw changes brought Wayland into line with state law and "we're all set to go." The board then entered executive session to handle motor vehicle and personal property abatements and a Clause 41A deferral denial.
