Vokes Players Wraps 'Over the River' Run Saturday

Saturday, Aug. 8 — Beatrice Herford's Vokes Players close their run of "Over the River and Through the Woods," Joe DiPietro's comedy about an Italian-American bachelor whose grandparents scheme to keep him from moving to Seattle. Directed by David Berti, the production opened July 24 and wraps its Wayland Center run with Saturday's final performance.

Monday, Aug. 10 — Arts Wayland's deadline arrives for vendors to register for Wayland Fest 2026, the juried arts and crafts event returning to Wayland Town Center on Oct. 3.

Thursday, Aug. 13 — Arts Wayland closes out its Wayland Summer Series with a free concert at Wayland Town Beach, 25 Parkland Drive, from 5 to 8 p.m. Guitarist Chris Brenne opens at 5 p.m., followed by By Chance They Met, featuring the McKinnon Sisters and Kat Brooks, from 6 to 8 p.m. Parking and admission are free.

Thursday, Aug. 17 — Arts Wayland hosts Macho Mocha, a coffee and conversation gathering for men, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at its gallery on Andrew Avenue.

Tuesday, Aug. 24 — The Songwriter's Woodshed meets at Arts Wayland at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 26 — Arts Wayland's submission window closes at 11:59 p.m. for members hoping to show work in the September-October art exhibit.
