Recreation Commission reappoints CPC and landfill liaisons, approves annual report

WAYLAND — August 14, 2023 — Wayland Recreation Commission books first million-dollar revenue year and launches new after-school program. The commission on Aug. 14 voted 3-0 to reappoint Kelly to the Community Preservation Committee and David Brumann to the Route 20 South Landfill Visioning Committee, both through June 30, 2024 and subject to Select Board confirmation. Members unanimously accepted the fiscal 2023 annual reports as amended to note $189,000 from the town stabilization fund and $200,000 from the field revolving account funded the Loker fields project. Recreation Director Katherine Hall reported the department has absorbed roughly $25,000 in seasonal wage increases each of the past five years and announced new hire Celine Domico, shared with the Town Clerk. Chair Asa Foster, frustrated with shared-field upkeep at the high school, told coaches to "get off the field" when their permits end.
