Wayland Planning Board sets March 12 hearing on MBTA zoning bylaw

WAYLAND -- February 27, 2024, Wayland Planning Board locks in March 12 hearing on MBTA Communities overlay bylaw. Chair Annette Lewis told members she briefed the Select Board on Monday and that Tom Fay asked whether more overlay parcels could be vetted before town meeting; Lewis said "there's just no way" on the current timeline. The board voted 4-0 to approve amended Feb. 13 minutes, with Dan Hill absent, and spent most of the meeting drafting site plan review regulations, settling on eight plan-set copies, a 21-day department comment window, hearing commencement generally within 45 days of filing, and a 90-day decision deadline. Member Jen Steele pressed to give the board discretion over minor-versus-major plan changes rather than fixed thresholds. The board will vote its formal town meeting report on March 19.
