Wayland Museum Brings Slave Dwelling Project Founder Joseph McGill Jr. To Town

Monday, July 20 — The Wayland Water Division said it is aware of discolored water in the York Road area and is looking into the cause, according to a town alert posted Monday afternoon.

Tuesday, July 21, 7 a.m. — The Department of Public Works will close Glezen Lane between Concord Road and Draper Road starting at 7 a.m., the town announced Monday.

Thursday, July 23 through Sunday, July 26 — The Wayland Museum & Historical Society, the town and Wayland250 will host Joseph McGill Jr., founder of the Slave Dwelling Project, as part of the "Tracing Liberty: History Talks and Nature Walks" series, which wraps up at the end of the month. The visit is free to attend, with details posted at waylandmuseum.org.

Thursday, July 23, 5-8 p.m. — Arts Wayland and the Wayland Recreation Department present the next "Sunset Sessions" concert at Wayland Town Beach, featuring Peter Lavenson & Friends.

Friday, July 24 — The Vokes Players open "Over the River and Through the Woods," Joe DiPietro's comedy directed by David Berti, for a run through Aug. 8 at Beatrice Herford's Vokes Theatre on Route 20.

Sunday, July 26, 9 a.m. — The museum's "Walk, Wonder, and Discover!" series, part of Tracing Liberty, continues at Alpine Field and Castle Hill Trail.

Monday, July 27, 7:30 p.m. — Arts Wayland hosts "The Songwriter's Woodshed" at its gallery on Andrew Avenue.
