Recreation Commission Reappoints Foster as Chair, Names Stewart to CPC
Recreation Commission · Meeting of September 15, 2026
Wayland Recreation Commission reorganizes, keeps Foster as chair and Stewart as clerk. The commission voted unanimously to retain Asa B. Foster as chair and Lesley Stewart as clerk through the 2027 Annual Town Meeting, and designated Stewart, who abstained, as its liaison to the Community Preservation Committee for a term ending June 30, 2027, subject to Select Board confirmation.
The now-dissolved Route 20 Landfill Visioning Committee's final plan calls for an unlit grass playing field, school bus parking with EV charging infrastructure, and a public works materials center on the Route 20 South Landfill parcel, backed by a roughly $500,000 DPW design request. Commissioners also heard that a proposed town center dog park remains stalled over insurance and ownership questions, and that Alpine Field's return is delayed to spring 2027 for turf establishment.
